Second Futures Singles Title

Very happy with my week here in Tunisia once again.  Played some very good ball out here this week when I needed to!  Started the week with a clinical performance against a Swiss serve volleyer winning 6-1 6-2. I then backed it up after a rain day, beating my Bosnian doubles partner 6-4 6-3.  Was a shame we had to meet so early in the tournament.  Then in a rematch quarter final against my Tunisian mate Anis, I prevailed 3 in the 3rd.

By this point I was very pleased and had no expectations for the rest of the tournament!  Semi finals came, where I played Tallon Griekspoor, another friend of mine.  I came from a set down to win 4 in the 3rd…finding some great form in the second 2 sets…serving cannons!  In the final today I played a spaniard ranked 260 ATP.  No expectations once again, I started poorly loosing the first 6-3.  My serve kept me in the match in the early stages of the second and allowed me to find some form.  Got the first break in the second and from then on I felt the better player on the court.  Was playing confidently and putting a lot of pressure on him.  I did come through some tight situations in the third, but eventually prevailed 3 in the 3rd to claim my second singles title.

I’ve rested and recovered by doing a good pool recovery session and stretch and have a massage booked tomorrow in preparation for a Wednesday start!
Time to go again!
